UK Covid Inquiry Complaint
October 2023
Lady Hallett
UK Covid-19 Inquiry
Dear Lady Hallett and UK Covid-19 Inquiry team,
I hereby want to lodge an official complaint about the proceedings of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.
The reason for the complaint is the profound bias noted during the Inquiry on Thursday 19th of October 2023.
I was particularly interested in the proceedings of this day because on this day Prof. Carl Heneghan was going to give evidence.
I have read to the whole transcript of the 19th of October and to say I am shocked it so put it mildly. I probably was naive in thinking that this inquiry was going to be unbiased, but nothing is further from the truth if these proceedings are anything to go by.
My observations:
- First of all, Mr. Keith asks leading questions, especially of prof. Noakes and prof. Edmunds- guiding them towards answers which show how marvellous their work was, how good the lockdowns were (and they should have started sooner).
- Then there is the questioning of prof. Heneghan....Mr. Keith starts to try and diminish prof. Heneghan’s credentials and then proceeds to ask questions about the Great Barrington Declaration which prof. Heneghan did not sign (I did by the way) and refuses to listen to his reasoning why and actually tries to trip him up and interrupts him all the time. I am really surprised prof. Heneghan kept his cool.
- To ask prof. Heneghan about the unprofessional comments made by Dame McClean, is completely inappropriate in an Inquiry.
- Prof. Heneghan’s session was too short to get any meaningful evidence.
- Further bias is shown by Lady Hallett as she sings the full praises of both prof. Noakes and Edmunds. This is unnecessary from an independent chair, especially as there was no such praise for prof. Heneghan.
So where to go from here? I am really unsure, but of one thing I am sure that in its present format this Inquiry is not going to achieve anything useful. Unless the Inquiry is completely unbiassed and asks difficult questions, it will be a waste of public money. Is there any way to change the direction of the Inquiry? Have previous Inquiries been criticised and stopped? I would certainly want a counter to Mr. Keith, asking intelligent, scientific and challenging questions rather than Mr. Keith's cooing over the splendid pandemic response.
I further hope that prof. Carl Heneghan’s written testimony will be given due consideration. I have found him to be a scientist of the highest integrity. He won’t compromise and won’t give yes/no answers until he is highly certain. In medical evidence there are often grey areas, where no simple answers exist. That is why it was clear that council on that day failed to understand Prof. Carl Heneghan.
I sincerely hope to get an answer to my complaint and that it is taken into consideration.
Kind regards,
Myra

I hope this is not a misuse of your sub stack, but I have a veterinary history-of-medicine question for you, no urgent need for an answer.
My grandfather was a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College; he died in the mid 1930's, presumably of a subdural hematoma sustained while in the act of "giving a pig a shot".
We've heard a lot of herd medicine lately, "swine flu", &c. But what sort of shot would my grandfather have been giving a pig back then?
